Key Strategic Changes:

Coffeehouse Experience: Bringing back more seating after years of prioritizing digital orders and drive-thrus and rekindling the "third place" experience that made Starbucks iconic. Bring back the human connection.

 

Menu Simplification: Prioritizing quality over quantity. Cutting the menu by 30% and putting "guard rails" on customization to speed service to under 4 minutes.

 

Store Operations: Leverage existing equipment and processes wherever possible to maintain consistency across thousands of locations while reducing training complexity.

 

Corporate Restructuring: Laying off 1,100 corporate employees in February 2025 to streamline operations and reduce complexity.
